And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. (Mt 14:14)
Jesus never turned anyone away who needed healing. He was filled with compassion and compassion heals. Today we are often told that God only heals if He feels like it. It is as if God’s feelings come and go. Who knows what kind of mood He’ll be in if you get sick?
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and said unto him, I will; be clean. (Mk. 1:41)
The love of God will minister to the sick and hurting. The love of God will release the authority of God against sickness. Love understands that sickness is a fruit of the root of sin in the human race. When He bore our sins on the cross, He simultaneously bore our sicknesses.
Which is it easier to say …. Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? (Mk. 2:9)
If the sin issue has been dealt with, the sickness issue was also dealt with. Allow His love to flow through you to bring healing to others.
And these signs shall follow them that believe…. they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mk. 16:17-18)
I truly believe that the healing so many need, is not in the sovereign control of God, but rather is locked up in the unbelieving church. If we would believe that we are the Body of Christ, appointed and anointed to heal the sick, we would see a far greater manifestation of His power.
Let’s allow God’s love to touch us and motivate us to lay hands on the sick. The ball is in our court.
